100 Days In Office: Will Hon. Kareem Tajudeen Abisodun Fail||Balogun Uthman
There are 365 days in a year, and public office holders have about 1,460 days to prove themselves. Holding public officers to account in 100 days after they take office cannot effectively and logically assess the worth and value that these public officers bring to the table. Nevertheless, it is a day that affords the the led an opportunity to measure the performance of those they elected.
While the first 100 days may provide an initial evaluation of a leader's capabilities, it is crucial to acknowledge that significant changes take time. In the case of Honorable Tajudeen Abisodun Kareem, his tenure as the representative for Saki West, Saki East, and Atisbo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives has raised questions about his ability to deliver on his promises.
However, a closer and circumspect look at his impressive achievements and proactive initiatives suggests that Honorable Kareem is on the path to success and has the potential to exceed expectations in his role as a public servant. He is a man running on a mission and burning with a passion to bring the dividends of democracy to his people. He is determined to leave no stone unturned until he delivers on his campaign promises of harnessing opportunities for his constituents, emancipate women, empower youths, take care of the needy, support children education and better the life of his people.
His first 100 days in the office started with series of induction and training program. This is a program organized for all members of National Assembly in other to equip them with the necessary skills and to expose members-elect to the functions of the National Assembly; its practices and procedures, the services available to them and get them acquainted with the best approach on carrying out legislative activities. After the completion of his training and assumption of office, the leadership of the green chamber having noticed his outstanding qualities appointed him as the Chairman of the House Committee on Culture and Tourism.
Hon. Tajudeen Wẹrẹ has wasted no time in rolling up his sleeves and working tirelessly to make a difference in the lives of his constituents. Being a politician and leader who knows why he threw his hat into the ring, as soon as he was sworn-in to represent Saki West, Saki East and Atisbo Federal Constituency of Oyo State , he immediately hit the ground running as a legislator.
In my opinion, nothing empowers like education. To be educated is to be transformed and to be uneducated is to be deformed. Education is the key factor to man's advancement in the race of life. In his first 100 days in office, Honorable Kareem has already demonstrated his commitment to addressing educational disparity among his constituents. His commitment to providing the invaluable gift of education by awarding scholarships to 20 indigent students who may have otherwise been denied access to quality education and whose dream to have attended higher education might have been shattered. This initiative not only uplifts deserving students but also underscores Honourable Kareem's understanding of the power of education in fostering societal growth and development.
More so, recognizing the challenges faced by the community in accessing quality healthcare, Honourable Kareem has demonstrated unwavering dedication to addressing the healthcare challenges faced by his constituents. By personally attending to the medical burdens of 120 patients across five hospitals. He has shown great empathy and the willingness to go extra mile to alleviate their suffering. These efforts undoubtedly provide relief to individuals and families experiencing difficulties in footing their hospital bills
In times of hardship, true leaders emerge to provide much-needed support to their communities. Honourable Kareem's decision to roll out palliatives reflects his astute understanding of the challenges faced by his constituents and his commitment to easing their burdens. This initiative exemplifies a leader who is not only in touch with the reality on the ground but also proactive in addressing the immediate needs of the people he serves.
Honourable Tajudeen has also made it worthwhile to thank the people who have first shown him love by standing with him before, during the election and have remained steadfast after his inauguration. He gave out motorcycles and cars to deserving constituents and loyal party members to strengthen the party so that those leading the party at the ward and chapter level can continue to work for the growth of the party.
Notable among his intervention was the #100,000 to support Oke Dio transformer and renovation of kinikini Central Mosque . He also assisted the muslim community with #500, 000 for the preparation of Maulid Nabiy and donated same amount on the day of the programme. He has been silently touching lives without fanfare.
The astute legislator has been a grassroot politician who have first-hand knowledge, experience and information about the people and their demands, hence he had placed value and resources to ensure these demands are met and others they are yet to ask for. More importantly, he has been active on the floor of the hallowed Green Chamber since he was sworn-in along with his fellow lawmakers in Abuja.
Looking forward, it is essential to consider Honorable Kareem's vision and the trajectory he has set for his tenure. In his short time in office, he has exhibited a clear sense of purpose and direction, addressing critical issues such as education, healthcare, and poverty alleviation. His commitment to good governance, transparency, and accountability creates a solid foundation for continued success.
As Honourable Kareem progresses in his tenure, I have no doubt that he will continue to champion the interests of his constituents, prioritize their needs, and work towards the overall progress of the nation. I look forward to witnessing the positive impact he will undoubtedly make during his time in office.
Inevitably, encomiums and commendation have been pouring in from all well-meaning individuals and social groups. They were impressed by the Honorable's critical social and economic interventions. I urge Honorable Tajudeen Wẹrẹ not to be distracted by the deserved good words, this is a marathon and not a 100 metres race. There is still a long way to go.
I congratulate Honourable Tajudeen Abisodun Kareem on his successful completion of 100 days in office. May his tenure be filled with achievements, fulfillment, and significant contributions to the betterment of Nigeria.
